Joly Design is a small yet renowned design studio that creates furniture designs for some of the largest furniture stores worldwide. Chances are, you’ve already sat on one of their creations.
Founded in 1950, Joly Design has produced over 70,000 models of sofas, chairs, and tables. Their business model is unique—they don’t sell products or services directly, but instead, earn royalties from their designs. No existing software was both affordable and adaptable enough to meet their specific needs and small scale.
Building custom software was previously out of reach due to high costs—until now.
In this session, we’ll take an in-depth look at an ERP system built entirely from scratch using low-code technology to support the needs of a small business. This includes managing finances, invoicing, model creation workflows, royalties tracking, financial reporting, and client relationship management.
We’ll explore why Retool and Supabase were the ideal choices, break down the exact cost analysis, compare it to traditional coding approaches, and discuss the challenges we encountered along the way.
